About The Trip:

According to Hindu mythology, Brahmatal Lake is the place where Lord Brahma meditated many years ago. It is nestled in the depths of the Uttarakhand Himalayas. The trek to the Brahamatal Lake takes you on an epic journey through never-ending ridgelines, high-altitude lakes, all dense bugyal, snow-covered peaks, and awe-inspiring views. There are many treks that can’t be done in January and February. Brahmatal Trek that way is a classic winter trek for that period. The trek is known for offering a huge amount of snow that makes the trek exciting. The views from the summit are even more captivating with majestic views of the mighty Himalayan ranges which provide many such exciting as well as adventurous trekking trails, but this is probably the only trekking trail in the country where you could get a front-seat view of Himalayan peaks with Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti, bird’s eye view of the majestic Roopkund Lake and ample opportunities to capture the majestic snow-covered peak with their camera which rises above 7,000 meters. Brahmatal Trek is one of the best winter treks in the Himalayas.

Important Points

  • Please note that you will be staying in tents on all days of the trek.
  • Trekkers must carry a copy of their photo ID for entry at forest check posts on the trek. Since Lohajung has no facilities to take a photocopy, do not leave this till the end.

Please note: The distance between campsites may vary by 100 meters depending the weather conditions and the route you take. The altitude may also vary by 100 feet for similar reasons.

Please note: Twin sharing tents may not be available in May, June, July and August. This is because raw materials for making tents are sourced from different countries. But their export has been affected due to international unrest. This has led to a global shortage of tents. Having said that, you’ll still have comfortable space as these tents have been designed to accommodate three trekkers.
