About The Trip:

A region nestled between India and Tibet known for adventure and thrill – Lahaul & Spiti’s pictures from its unreal landscape must have crossed your newsfeed a few times. Inspired by them and stories from Instagram, plan your drive to Spiti with Thrillophilia, to experience the unique vibe of this cold deserted, landlocked mountain valley. To put it simply, a perfect playground for those who seek adventurous off-road driving to Spiti which is not just a place, it is a feeling.

Day Wise Itnerary

    • Start early to beat the traffic out of Chandigarh and head towards the Himalayas on the Himalayan Expressway. On the way, you will be passing through Chail, a hill station in the lower Himalayan range and home to beautiful flower orchards. After a short lunch break, you will head towards Shimla, known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh. Apple and cherry trees line the roadsides and the tall Deodhar fir trees spread their sweet aroma all around.
    • End the day after reaching the hotel in Shimla.
  • Wake up early in the morning to experience one of the most beautiful sunrises.
  • After a delicious breakfast, you will leave for one of the most beautiful views of Kinnaur Valley.
  • Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham from where you will take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for an amazing meal.
  • Overnight stay and dinner at hotel/homestay in Chitkul.
    • After having a hearty breakfast, you will leave for Nako.  Drive through the Indo – Tibetan highway along with the small picturesque hamlets like Reckong Peo, which is the main town of the Kinnaur district. Pass through Khab Bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River.
    • You will then proceed to Nako which is the last village of Kinnaur Valley. Upon reaching Nako, Visit the Nako Gompa situated at the banks of the serene Nako Lake which was established in the 11th century.
    • Overnight stay at a hotel/ homestay in Nako.
    • Wake up in the morning and have a healthy breakfast. Hit the roads and just as you cross Sumdo you will be entering the Spiti Valley. Just 3 Km after Sumdo, take a detour on the right through the gate to visit the 500-Year-Old Mummy in the Gue Village.Stop by the “Ajanta of the Himalayas’ – Tabo Monastery, which is the oldest continuously operating Buddhist enclave in both India and the Himalayas. Later, start a scenic drive towards the secluded land of Pin Valley – which houses the exotic and endangered Himalayan species including the Snow leopard and Siberian ibex, Tibetan Gazelle, etc. Later, start a scenic drive towards the Dhankar monastery and will do a  small trek towards Dhankar lake.
    • You will then proceed towards Kaza where you will be spending the night at a hotel.
    • Post early morning breakfast, go out to explore the spectacular beauty of Kaza. Visit the Key Gompa Monastery nestled in a bowl-shaped valley of the small village Langza in Spiti valley. Langza is considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road and the nearby Komic Village is the highest village. Hikkim is close to Kaza which is one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India.
    • Return back to your hotel in Kaza for an overnight stay.
    • Post breakfast, proceed towards the next location which is the beautiful crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. You will then go farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber that will lead your way to the Chicham Bridge, the highest bridge in Asia. After passing Kunzum La take the right to visit Chandratal Lake. The beauty of this place is spectacular, leave behind the vehicle and trek for two kilometres to reach the lake. Lake is situated in the Spiti part of Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. Overlooked by mountains on one side and cirque on the other, the lake glitters under the starlit sky adding to its overall charm.
    • Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the camps near Chandratal.
    • Today you will be leaving behind the Spiti Valley and driving towards Manali. On the way, you will be crossing the most famous chandratal to gramphu off roads, chacha chachi Dhaba and the newly built Atal Tunnel and reach Manali. Once you reach Manali,
    •  you’ll be free to explore the city of Manali. Later, head towards the Volvo bus stand to continue your onward journey towards Delhi. Your trip ends here with a lifetime of memories.

  • Any Entry tickets at exploration sites.  
  • Additional accommodation/food costs incurred due to any delayed travel.
  • Any lunch and other meals not mentioned in Package Inclusions.

Policies:

Confirmation Policies

  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking
  • In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
  • Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed

Cancellation Policies

  • If cancellation are made 30 days before the date of travel then 25.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation are made 15 days to 30 days before the date of travel then 50.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
  • If cancellation are made 0 days to 15 days before the date of travel then 100.0% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees

Payment Policies

100.0% of total tour cost will have to be paid 0 days before the date of booking

Refund Policies

The applicable refund amount will be processed within 10 business days.

All applicable refunds will be done in the traveller’s bank account.
